Jude

Jude 1:1 - Q. To whom is this epistle written?

A. to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called

Jude 1:3-4

Jude 1:5 - The Lord destroyed them that did not believe

Jude 1:6 - That is the third of the Angels ? (as suggested by Rev. 12:4,9 ?) who rebelled with Lucifer, Lucifer being satan, the devil and the god of this world. (2 Cor. 4:4, Isaiah 14:13, Rev. 12:4,9)

Jude 1:7 - The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrha is an example of the suffering and eternal fire which those who give themselves over to sin will receive.

Jude 1:9 - Michael the archangel did not use insulting words to accuse satan, but rather he said “The Lord Rebuke thee.” This is the example we should follow. For the Lord Christ also rebuked satan in this manner in Luke 4:8, Mark 8:33, etcetera. And in Zec. 3:2 it was also said unto satan “The Lord Rebuke thee.”

Jude 1:11 - The way of Cain (Genesis ch.4), the error of Balaam (Numbers ch.22), and the gainsaying of Core (a.k.a. Korah) (Numbers ch.16) (Strong’s Concordance G2879, H7141)

Jude 1:14-15 - The Lord cometh with his saints to judge everyone and convince all the ungodly of their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed (this is a quote from 1 Enoch 1:9).

Jude 1:16 - This verse (16) along with verse 18 and 19 describe the ungodly of verse 15.

Jude 1:17-21

Jude 1:22-23 - Some sinners we need to gently and compassionately lead to Christ, while others need to be sharply reproved by clearly making known to them the severity of God’s judgment against stubborn sinners.

Jude 1:24 - Only God by his gift of Grace, through Faith in our Lord Jesus Christ is able to keep us from falling into sin and the death to which sin leads. (Eph. 2:8, Eph 5:27)

Jude 1:25 - Glory be to God who is truly the only wise God and is the deliverer of whosoever walketh after and trusteth in him. (Proverbs 28:26)
